    Project Description

We are a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit making organization. Our goal is to build on the theory of change, through healthier/sustainable solutions to uprising environmental issues. We focus on adaptation and mitigation strategies for climate change. We seek to contribute to a sustainable planet through climate change intervention, environmental conservation, capacity building, development intervention, women and development, and collaborative research.

Cepow’s mission is to build on inclusive, integrated, collaborative principles in community conservation, reforestation, Environmental Education, Plastic Pollution, and climate change intervention. CEPOW upholds that through participatory and inclusive development sustainable development goals could be achieved.

    My ISA project focuses on

We use post-consumer plastic waste as a resource to manufacture eco-friendly plastic pavements and tiles. Plastic pavements and tiles are an affordable alternative to brick pavements and ceramic tiles, which reduces the need for building materials manufactured from cement. Plastic pavements and tiles made from recycled plastics are ideal for floor concreting, beautification of homes, and contribution to the reduction of produced plastics.

Further, in this project, we will not only focus on production but also promote environmental education amongst young kids in primary school with a focus on transforming their conscious behaviours and connecting them to nature. Nature deficit disorders in recent years are a key problem among kids in Cameroon. Children are spending less time outdoors than they have in the past, they have experienced less connectivity to nature and the need to protect and conserve her. In this light, we hope to create a safe space for kids to connect and participate in creating and maintaining a healthier planet.  Benefiting from a sense of belonging, purposeful learning, and opportunities to develop as leaders, stewards, and responsible citizens.

We shall create 5 Eco clubs in 5 schools to promote environmental education. We will focus on designing basic teacher trainer guides, General EE manuals for primary schools, and a manual for environmental clubs included. Further, we will carry out outdoor activities that will supplement class curricula.  We will be teaching these kids basic recycling skills during our Outdoor activities.
