The Networking-Nature-Camp is the pilot project of the Green the Brain Institute. The project is a live-in 4 days/3 nights camp in Nigeria. The objective of the Networking-Nature-Camp is to educate, encourage and build a community of young Nigerians who will actively participate in protected area management, environmental care and protection and climate action to combat climate change.
Participants will be taught using various unconventional activities that include individual and group projects. The camping experience is targeted at different age brackets and for each age cohort, scholarships will be awarded. To qualify for the scholarship, students carry out an active environmental activity such as tree planting, environmental education and sensitization .e.t.c., make a video and explain how this activity benefits the environment. For the pilot project, the target population is young Nigerians between ages 18 and 25 and an exception for young people between the ages 26 to 29 with no background in Environmental Sustainability.
The activities and step by step activities will be highlighted in an environmental education manual written by Olamide Olabimpe Olayiwola, the founder of the institute, and followed judiciously. This project thrives through donations, sponsorships and partnership of local NGOS, park managers, community members and volunteers. At the end of this camping experience, students would have gained knowledge about the environment through practical activities, met young environmental enthusiasts amongst others.

Project title: Networking-Nature-Camp
Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
Short description: The Networking-Nature-Camp project is 3 nights, 4 days camping exercise packed with various practical activities aimed at encouraging and educating young Nigerians about the environment and to take climate action.
Pitch: As a young Nigerian in the social sciences, I had no knowledge of climate or environmental protection in and out of school. This project, employing practical unconventional activities, breaks the chain of ignorance that breeds environmental indifference in the minds of young Nigerians. I invite you to join me on this.
