ARC is a startup with the mission to make education meaningful and transformative through innovative products that will make our young learners kind, ethical and globally responsible citizens of the world. Towards that mission, we have designed 360 degree solutions for Education for Sustainable Development. These solutions include:
1. SDG Handbooks for Students: There are 10 handbooks for ages 3 to 13 (2 for pre-primary and 1 each for grades 1 to 8), containing activity-based SDG worksheets that are easy to integrate with any school curriculum.
2. SDG Handbooks for Educators: There are 10 handbooks for educators of ages 3 to 13 (2 for pre-primary and 1 each for grades 1 to 8), providing detailed lesson plans, additional resources, active student response strategies, and many tools and templates for an effective teaching-learning experience.
3. SDG Web Portal for Students and Educators: This web portal takes learning to a new dimension; it can be used as a standalone tool for fun-based learning of SDGs or as a digital aid in combination with SDG Hanbooks.
4. SDG Workshops for Educators: The workshops help educators to understand the SDGs in detail and to embed the SDGs in their lessons in various ways.
5. SDG-based Projects for Students: These projects are aimed at putting learning into practice, thereby empowering students to be changemakers.
The above solutions are based on the principle that integration with school curriculum is necessary to the concept of education ‘for’ sustainable development, which is more impactful than education ‘about’ sustainable development. These books have been implemented in a number of schools in India and abroad.
My ISA project is to develop a one-stop LMS-based digital platform for institutions that offers 360-degree ESD solutions. It will include:
· Interactive learning material for students (age 5-13)
· Teaching resources and lesson plans for teachers
· Project ideas for global collaboration of institutions on sustainable solutions
1. Type of collaboration: Partners to take my products to their countries / territories
2. Project title: Books / digital platform to integrate sustainability, climate education and global citizenship in school education
3. Location: Global. The programme is running successfully in India, Abu Dhabi and Portugal. We are open to collaborations to expand it in other parts of the world
